Basketball Recap: Grand Rapids Comes Up Short

Grand Rapids was the 55-51 winner over Proctor when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks were beaten by the Proctor Rails 97-37 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Thunderhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Rails are ranked 28th).

Grand Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Proctor, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Rapids will take on Virginia at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Proctor, they will challenge Cloquet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Proctor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
