Basketball Recap: Marvin Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sun Valley last Monday, Marvin Ridge came back down to earth. The Marvin Ridge Mavericks were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 55-54 to the Cox Mill Chargers. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in December of 2014.

Marvin Ridge moved to 9-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cox Mill, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marvin Ridge will challenge Sun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marvin Ridge is facing Sun Valley at the right time seeing as Sun Valley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Cox Mill, they will square off against Lake Norman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Norman comes in on 11 and Cox Mill on four.
