Gracie Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izzie Groneman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was McClain Carter, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Maple Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.
Cedar Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Maple Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Maple Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
