Softball Recap: Snohomish Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Monroe

Snohomish faced Monroe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 9-5 to the Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in March.

Roz Girard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-4. Audrey Ebia also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Snohomish's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Monroe, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Snohomish is set to face off against their familiar foe Everett at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Monroe will take on rival Stanwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
