Basketball Recap: Merritt Beats Burns Flat-Dill City for Their Third Straight Victory

Merritt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 45-40 win over the Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles. The Oilers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Merritt has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Burns Flat-Dill City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Merritt will face off against Hollis at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burns Flat-Dill City, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cordell at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st.
