Basketball Game Preview: Peachtree Ridge Lions vs. Newton Rams

Peachtree Ridge hasn't had much luck against Newton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Peachtree Ridge Lions will take on the Newton Rams. One thing working in Peachtree Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Peachtree Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over North Atlanta. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Warriors are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Newton didn't have too much trouble with Hillgrove on Wednesday as they won 75-60.

Peachtree Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points over those games. Newton's win bumped their record up to 18-9.

Peachtree Ridge couldn't quite finish off Newton when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 60-58. Can Peachtree Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
