Soccer Game Preview: McDonough vs. Calvert

The McDonough Rams will take on the Calvert Cavaliers on Tuesday. McDonough is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

McDonough is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Huntingtown a 3-0 shutout. McDonough have beaten Huntingtown the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Huntingtown has come to flipping the script.

Siena Rothmann and Talyn Catena scored all three of McDonough's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, Calvert won against La Plata last Thursday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. The Cavaliers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Warriors.

Calvert's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for McDonough, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

McDonough might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Calvert in their previous meeting on October 9th. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
