Garden County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Crawford Rams 82-25 on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-0.

Kole Fornander threw for 52 yards and one TD. Wilsie Lobner was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Cable Larsen rushed for 95 yards and one score.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cody Holmgren, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. Another signal caller making a difference was Taylor Homan, who threw for 248 yards and three TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden County will square off against Cody-Kilgore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crawford, they will take on Northern Valley at 11:00 a.m. on the 6th.
