The Kamiak Knights will square off against the Woodinville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kamiak 3.5, Woodinville 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Kamiak took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Mountlake Terrace, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights won by a run and slipped past the Hawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 19, 2024.
Joe Estes looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Malachi Noet, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodinville). They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Newport - Bellevue on Monday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Braden Perry made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other pitching news, Levi Grothen looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Eli Jones was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Noah Vaiphei, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Woodinville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kamiak, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
