Volleyball Recap: Sharon Eagles vs. King Philip Regional Warriors
Sharon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the King Philip Regional Warriors, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Sharon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23, 25-17.
King Philip Regional had a senior duo take command as Cece Mullen had 22 assists and eight aces and Caleigh Shore had nine digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Shore. Leah Hayes also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Sharon's record now sits at 2-13. As for King Philip Regional, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Sharon will head out to challenge Norwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for King Philip Regional, they will welcome Bellingham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
