Softball Recap: Kalamazoo Central Comes Up Short

Kalamazoo Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kalamazoo Christian Comets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Comets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-4 loss on Thursday.

Ava Fellings led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Miranda Fiore, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Kalamazoo Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-22. As for Kalamazoo Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kalamazoo Central will square off against Watervliet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kalamazoo Christian, they will face off against Mendon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
