Preview: Alpharetta Raiders vs. Blessed Trinity Titans
Alpharetta has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Blessed Trinity Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Alpharetta never let their opponents score. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over Johns Creek. Given Alpharetta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Johns Creek is ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alpharetta can attribute much of their success to Sean Wilson, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wilson's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Blessed Trinity over Johns Creek in every quarter on their way to victory two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Blessed Trinity blew Johns Creek out of the water with a 38-0 final score. Blessed Trinity pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Johns Creek had little chance of recovering from.
Blessed Trinity found their leader in underclassman Ahmontae Pitts, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns.
Alpharetta is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Blessed Trinity, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Alpharetta strolled past Blessed Trinity in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alpharetta since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
