Softball Recap: DeMotte Christian Triumphs

DeMotte Christian hadn't done well against Faith Christian recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Eagles. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 12-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Allie Koves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jorie Rottier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Allie Myers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win got DeMotte Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, DeMotte Christian will square off against Tri-County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Faith Christian, they will take on Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
