Basketball Recap: Walker Extends Home Winning Streak to 33

Walker entered their tilt with Prairieville on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Prairieville Hurricanes for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-22 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Hurricanes are ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Logan Cookmeyer, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points along with five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Da'Nijah Goza, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Walker's victory was their 33rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Prairieville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
