Jefferson was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Hardy, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for Jefferson: when they faced off against East Hardy last Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Jefferson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-9.

Sarah Diaz paced Jefferson's offense, picking up 17 kills. Diaz got some help from Aven Thorn and her 19 assists. Madison DuVal controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why East Hardy lost, don't look at Savanah Pullen. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and one assist.

Jefferson's victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16-3. As for East Hardy, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-8.

Jefferson has already played their next contest (against Martinsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Hardy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Paw Paw on the 18th.
