Softball Recap: Ritchie County Rebels vs. Clay County Panthers

Ritchie County stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Clay County Panthers an 8-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for Ritchie County who now have three in a row.

Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Marcum has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Marcum was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayci Gray, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played.
