Softball Recap: Cedarville's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Cedarville had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Greenon Knights by a score of 4-1 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Knights last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Joscelyn Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elizabeth Caraway was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Katelyn Reed was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Cedarville's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Greenon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Cedarville will square off against Greeneview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Greenon, they will head out to face off against Bethel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
