Softball Recap: Red Bud Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

Red Bud put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They didn't even let the Lincolnwood Lancers on the board, marking the Musketeers' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Musketeers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Geralds made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Addy Duncan and Ava Wagner did most of the damage at the plate: Duncan went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Wagner went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Duncan has posted since back in April. Peyton Kreher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Red Bud has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lincolnwood, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Red Bud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincolnwood, they will take on Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
