Mission Valley and Osage City are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Mission Valley Vikings will get right back to it and host the Osage City Indians at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mission Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Franklin 65-33 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Mission Valley has managed all season.
Mission Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyplee Jacobson led the charge by scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillie Foster, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Osage City waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Central Heights at home to the tune of 74-15. That 59 points margin sets a new team best for Osage City this season.
Mission Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Osage City, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
