Baseball Game Preview: Marion Black Knights vs. Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles

The Marion Black Knights will head out to take on the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Monday just wasn't the day for Marion's offense. They came up short against Early College on Monday, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Clyde-Savannah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lyons.

Jackson Barr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Max Waldron made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Clyde-Savannah: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Connor Salerno was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Clyde-Savannah, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Marion suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Clyde-Savannah in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Black Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
