Preview: Epiphany Falcons vs. Coastal Christian Centurions
Epiphany is 0-3 against Coastal Christian since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Epiphany Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Coastal Christian Centurions at 5:00 p.m. Epiphany is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Epiphany ended up a good deal behind Greenfield and lost 52-36. Epiphany has not had much luck with Greenfield recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Epiphany got a solid performance out of Alanna Moye, who scored 21 points. That was a full 58.3% of Epiphany's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emma French, who scored nine points.
Coastal Christian suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-27 loss at the hands of John Paul II Catholic. While losing is never fun, Coastal Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while John Paul II Catholic is ranked 35th).
Epiphany has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Coastal Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Epiphany came up short against Coastal Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2018, falling 36-29. Can Epiphany avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
