Basketball Game Preview: Salem Lions vs. Clarksville Generals

Salem is 1-7 against Clarksville since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Salem Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Clarksville Generals at 7:30 p.m.

Salem is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 71-44 loss at the hands of Paoli. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Rams are ranked 75th).

Meanwhile, Clarksville didn't have too much trouble with New Washington on Tuesday as they won 69-54. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Clarksville's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Salem lost to Clarksville on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Salem, Jacob Seward (who went 10-for-16 en route to 26 points and seven boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
