Volleyball Recap: Burke Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Burke had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Gregory Gorillas by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Thursday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burke took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8.

Emmie Hausmann paced Burke's offense, picking up ten kills. Hausmann got some help from Breckynn Pistulka and her seven assists. Kyrie Matucha controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Burke's win bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Gregory, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14.

Burke didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Parkston on the 25th. As for Gregory, they will host Andes Central/Dakota Christian at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
