Basketball Game Preview: Guilderland Flying Dutchmen vs. Bethlehem Central Eagles

Guilderland is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bethlehem Central Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Guilderland fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Coxsackie-Athens on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Riverhawks by a score of 72-69.

Despite the defeat, Guilderland had strong showings from Christina Williams, who posted 33 points, and Cameron Kile, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 boards. Emily Bigness was another key player, putting up ten points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
