Baseball Recap: Marshalltown Takes a Loss

Marshalltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ames Little Cyclones. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Little Cyclones this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-0 defeat on Tuesday.

Marshalltown's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Ames, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Marshalltown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Fort Dodge on the 25th. As for Ames, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-9 victory against Waterloo East on the 25th.
