Softball Recap: Chicago Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Steinmetz College Prep last Thursday, Chicago Academy came back down to earth. Chicago Academy took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Senn Bulldogs on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 14-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

Destiny Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sariah Arlequin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Chicago Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

While they had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
