Basketball Game Preview: Metcalfe County Hornets vs. Campbellsville Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Metcalfe County Hornets will get right back to it and host the Campbellsville Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Metcalfe County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Metcalfe County is returning to their home court after beating Cumberland County on theirs, despite the fact Cumberland County has dominated at home this season. Metcalfe County skirted past Cumberland County 44-41. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly three points.

Meanwhile, Campbellsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-43 to Central Hardin. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost five in a row.

Campbellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Metcalfe County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Metcalfe County took their win against Campbellsville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 63-38. Will Metcalfe County repeat their success, or does Campbellsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
