The Pleasant Grove Eagles will face off against the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Madeline Lawson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Paredes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Shealynn Stinson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Pleasant Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Laguna Creek made easy work of Monterey Trail on Monday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
Nikiya Jumpingbull tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aundrea Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Laguna Creek, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Laguna Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game.
