Baseball Recap: John Marshall Starts Season with Win Against Charles City

John Marshall took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over the Charles City Panthers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Justices as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jackson Cobb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. That one earned run gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, John Marshall let Brice Johnson and Dwayne Ferrer run wild. Johnson scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-2, while Ferrer scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. Oscar Carroll was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

John Marshall will face off against Prince Edward County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Charles City, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Charles City Panthers challenge Sussex Central Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
