Basketball Recap: Gilbert's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Gilbert entered their match against Ballard on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Gilbert Tigers took a hard 76-60 fall against the Ballard Bombers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bombers are ranked first).

Gilbert's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2. As for Ballard, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will square off against A-D-M at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A-D-M knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Gilbert likes a good challenge. As for Ballard, they will face off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
