Baseball Recap: Pacifica Drops Season-High Score on San Fernando

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacifica). They put the hurt on the San Fernando Tigers with a sharp 15-1 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tritons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Ricky Garcia tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pacifica got a massive performance out of Dario Navarro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Navarro a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Gonzalez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5.

Pacifica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pacifica and bumps their season record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for San Fernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Pacifica will take on Ventura at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Fernando, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
