Basketball Recap: St. Stephens Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kennedy Blevins and Sydney Barkley

St. Stephens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between them and the Foard Tigers didn't end well, with the St. Stephens Indians falling 45-30. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 41-27 defeat back in January.

Despite the loss, St. Stephens had strong showings from Sydney Barkley, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards, and Kennedy Blevins, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those 17 points gave Barkley a new career-high.

It was another big night for Jessica Bailey, who scored 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals for Foard. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzer Abernathy, who had eight points along with five assists and three steals.

St. Stephens' defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Foard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

While St. Stephens had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
