Softball Game Preview: Franklin County Flyers vs. Montgomery County Indians

The Franklin County Flyers will challenge the Montgomery County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Franklin County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Great Crossing on Thursday. They came up short against the Warhawks, falling 8-2. The Flyers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Montgomery County came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 11-6.

Franklin County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 16-7. As for Montgomery County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Franklin County skirted past Montgomery County 13-12 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Flyers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
