Basketball Recap: Enloe Takes a Loss

Enloe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders and fell 54-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 52-16 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Cardinal Gibbons' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Maciariello, who posted eight points and six steals. Miller Kuss was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Enloe's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Enloe and Cardinal Gibbons could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Enloe (ranked 555th) will meet Southeast Raleigh (ranked 30th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons (ranked 346th) will meet Leesville Road (ranked 146th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
