Soccer Game Preview: Richland vs. Ryan

The Richland Royals will venture away from home to take on the Ryan Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ryan took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Richland, who comes in off a win.

Richland took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Denton 2-1. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Broncos are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to Birdville.

Richland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those seven games. As for Ryan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Richland came up short against Ryan in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Richland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
