The North Clayton Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Douglass Astros at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. North Clayton is looking for their season's first win.

Xavier Christan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvon Mack, who scored a run and stole Four bases.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Douglass). They blew past Cedar Grove 19-7 on Friday. Considering the Astros have won three matches by more than 11 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Jamarius Glover, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Anthony Alexander also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Douglass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
North Clayton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Douglass, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Clayton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .571. However, it's not like Douglass struggles in that department as they've averaged .566. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went North Clayton's way against Douglass in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, as North Clayton made off with an 18-3 win. Will North Clayton repeat their success, or does Douglass have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
