Baseball Recap: Luverne Comes Up Short

Luverne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 17-0 to the Ariton Purple Cats. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to them when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Luverne's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ariton, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Coming up, Luverne will venture away from home to square off against Ashford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Ashford's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Ariton, they will welcome Zion Chapel at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ariton's pitching crew has only allowed 0.6 runs per game this season, so Zion Chapel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
