Baseball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Monday, Benton came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwest Area Rangers on Thursday. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Benton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Northwest Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton will challenge Bucktail at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bucks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.92 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwest Area, they will square off against Lake-Lehman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
