Richmond Heights picks up 11th straight win at home

Recap: Richmond Heights Spartans vs. Cleveland Heights Tigers

There's no place like home for the Richmond Heights Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 62-49 victory over Cleveland Heights on Sunday. Given Richmond Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Cleveland Heights is ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Robbie Caldwell, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Caldwell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Fahness Freeman was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Richmond Heights pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.27 points. As for Cleveland Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond Heights won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shaker Heights at 7:45 p.m. on January 15th. As for Cleveland Heights, they will be playing at home against Strongsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
