Basketball Recap: Mulberry Beats Durant for Their 13th Straight Win

Mulberry extended their winning streak to 13 games thanks to a huge performance from Lorianys Castanon Cruz. The Mulberry Panthers enjoyed a cozy 47-32 win over the Durant Cougars on Saturday thanks in part to Castanon Cruz, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. The matchup was her 30th in a row with at least ten points.

Durant lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kassie Longanecker, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Longanecker has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brinkley Marsh, who put up six points and five boards.

Mulberry's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Durant, their record now sits at 14-9.

Mulberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Durant has already played their next contest (against Strawberry Crest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
