Baseball Game Preview: Mount Juliet Golden Bears vs. Summit Spartans

The Mount Juliet Golden Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Summit Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Mount Juliet nor Summit posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Mount Juliet came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to Westfield.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Summit and Nolensville meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Spartans took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Summit dropped their record down to 11-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Mount Juliet, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season.

Mount Juliet was able to grind out a solid win over Summit in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, winning 12-7. Do the Golden Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
