Baseball Recap: Bridgeport Bulldogs vs. Bellaire Big Reds
Bridgeport was forced to take a big loss against Bellaire on Thursday, they got the better of them on Monday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Big Reds. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Big Reds on Thursday, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.
Connor Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bridgeport is 6-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise. Nelson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Roman Sauvageot was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kannan Hildebrand, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Bridgeport's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Bellaire, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.
Bridgeport has already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Hiland on the 20th. Bellaire does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
