Softball Game Preview: North Rangers vs. Lakewood Rangers

North will take on Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North will be strutting in after a victory while Lakewood will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, North turned things around against South on Saturday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 11-8.

Maddy Ferrari was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Dutko (Bluffton), who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Rocky River hit Lakewood with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers came up short against the Pirates, falling 9-1. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Showers, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

North's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

North skirted past Lakewood 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Does North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
