Recap: Branford Buccaneers vs. Hollis Christian Academy Eagles
On Friday, The Branford Buccaneers got themselves on the board against the Hollis Christian Academy Eagles, but the Hollis Christian Academy Eagles never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 35-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Branford, who have now won three games by 35 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Branford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Maddox, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Austin Malaguti was in the mix too, providing Branford with two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Branford and bumps their season record up to 5-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-6 Hollis Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.1% over those games). As for Hollis Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Branford will square off against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Hollis Christian Academy will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Pace at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
