Baseball Recap: Atlantic Falls Short of Mater Academy Charter in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Atlantic can now relate to. They came up short against the Mater Academy Charter Lions on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Lions' pitchers proved too tough.

Atlantic moved to 8-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mater Academy Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9-1 record this season.

While Atlantic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
