Basketball Game Preview: Palm Bay Pirates vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Palm Bay Pirates and the Hagerty Huskies will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Palm Bay is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to the Tigers 59-55.

Meanwhile, Hagerty waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the War Eagles 75-41. With the Huskies ahead 41-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Palm Bay better keep an eye on Asa Kohn. He was instrumental in Hagerty's win, going 9 for 14 en route to 24 points and six boards. Kohn's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Ortiz, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Hagerty pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Palm Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
