Buchanan had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Clovis Cougars on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on seven straight.
The victory didn't come easy: Clovis scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 28-26, 20-25, 25-23.
Keira Nelson paced Buchanan's offense, picking up 22 kills. Nelson got some help from Avery Dedekian and her 18 assists. Dedekian was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 35-8. As for Clovis, their defeat ended a 14-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 34-5.
As of now, neither Buchanan nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
