Basketball Recap: Verdigris Takes a Loss

Verdigris lost against Holland Hall back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Verdigris Cardinals were dealt a 59-24 defeat at the hands of the Holland Hall Dutch. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Dutch are ranked 90th).

Verdigris has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Holland Hall, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Verdigris wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-41 loss against Kiefer on the 11th. Holland Hall has also already played their next game, a 47-33 defeat against Coweta on the 11th.
