Merritt Island came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Satellite Scorpions by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16.

Kylee Thompson paced Merritt Island's offense, picking up 11 kills. Thompson got some help from Amber Ives and her 13 assists.

Merritt Island's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Satellite, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Merritt Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Southwest on the 12th. As for Satellite, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Barron Collier on the 12th.
