Basketball Recap: Shaw Finds Playoff Glory Versus Enterprise

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shaw walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over the Enterprise Yellowjackets on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Demetrick Price Jr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 41 points and 15 rebounds. Those 41 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zyundre Sanders, who posted ten points along with five assists and three steals.

Shaw was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Shaw's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points over those games. As for Enterprise, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Shaw will take on Leake County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Leake County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Shaw surely won't give up without a fight. Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
